Gallipoli Stretcher Bearer Guide
Turn failed pushes into second chances on Anzac, Cape Helles, and Kut.
The Stretcher Bearer is one of Gallipoli’s highest-impact support classes because Expedition rewards survival as much as marksmanship. BlackMill Games’ 25v25 battles spend attacker Momentum whenever soldiers perish. Every clean revive is literally a refund on the attack clock. If you enjoy reading the map, moving under fire, and winning fights that never appear on the scoreboard, this is your main.
Before specializing, skim the Classes Overview and the Classes Hub. Momentum rules are covered in Expedition Mode; day-one basics live in Getting Started.
Role identity
Stretcher Bearers keep the squad in the fight. You are not a front-line duelist. Your rifle exists to discourage scavengers while you drag a critical teammate out of a lane. Great Bearers think in routes, not highlight clips:
- Where are bodies clustering relative to Headquarters?
- Which approach still has cover from HMG or Sniper fire?
- Which downed player actually changes the next thirty seconds?
If you revive the wrong rifleman in the open while an Officer and Heavy Machine Gunner bleed out behind a berm, you spent your life on the wrong economy.
Triage priority that wins sectors
Use this default order during an active Headquarters fight:
- Officer — tempo and callouts return immediately (see Officer Guide).
- HMG or LMG — lane control comes back online; details in Firepower Roles.
- Bomber — needed for the secure or doorway clear.
- Ammo Bearer — reload economy for the guns you just restored.
- Everyone else — stabilize once the critical pieces stand.
On defense, prioritize the gunners holding the longest lane and the Officer organizing the counter-push. Ignore bait bodies placed in obvious sniper sightlines unless smoke or suppression already covers you.
Pathing by map
Anzac
Beach geometry creates long, punished approaches. Move between scrub, dunes, and trench lips. Never sprint diagonally across open sand for a low-value revive. Stage behind the first covered shelf, watch for Sniper glints or HMG arcs, then commit. Pair with Officers who wait for suppression before calling the next wave — covered in the Officer Guide.
Cape Helles
Fort walls and landing chokepoints create revive magnets. Bodies pile at ladders, breaches, and trench junctions. Approach from a side angle, not the same funnel the defenders are already raking. Bombers often die at the exact doorway you need; revive them only when an Ammo Bearer or LMG can keep the breach alive for more than two seconds.
Kut
Streets offer more micro-cover but also more corners where you get deleted mid-drag. Hug the inside of buildings, clear the next room with a quick check, then pull. Urban fights make Stretcher Bearers feel closer to the front line — manage that temptation. Your win condition is still the Headquarters clock, not a bayonet montage.
Use the Maps Overview to memorize silhouette and cover lines before launch.
Working with Ammo Bearers and firepower
Stretcher Bearers and Ammo Bearers are twin sustain classes. You restore people; they restore magazines, belts, and explosives. Stay near the firepower cluster described in Firepower Roles without standing inside the HMG’s recoil cone. When a Bomber stack prepares a Headquarters secure, park yourself one cover piece behind them so the first trade does not end the breach.
If your team lacks sustain entirely, say so early and soft-claim the role in spawn. The Class Picker exists for players who know they want support but are choosing between Stretcher Bearer and Ammo Bearer.
Momentum discipline
Expedition attackers cannot treat every corpse as mandatory. Ask:
- Will this revive let us contest or secure Headquarters now?
- Are we below the Momentum comfort line and better off rotating to a Support Objective?
- Is the body a bait piece meant to farm Stretcher Bearers?
When Momentum is critical, the correct play may be abandoning a glamorous midfield body and escorting the squad to the Support Objective for a forward spawn reset. That strategic layer is why Stretcher Bearer mains should read Expedition Mode as carefully as any Officer.
Loadouts and settings
Until final kit cards are locked, prioritize mobility, quick weapon readiness after a drag, and any utility that helps you break line of sight. Exact weapon shortlists belong on Best Loadouts. Comparative projections — labeled as pre-launch series-veteran estimates — sit on the Class Tier List and Weapon Tier List.
Support classes benefit enormously from clear audio. Footsteps, downed calls, and incoming suppression matter more than ultra settings. Tune with the Settings Optimizer.
Habits that separate good Bearers from great ones
- Pre-aim the exit — know where you will drag before you commit.
- Call your revive — “Officer up behind sandbag” prevents friendly fire and wasted second attempts.
- Watch the skyline — Snipers hunt Bearers who repeat the same dune path.
- Reset with the squad — do not become a solo ambulance behind enemy lines after Headquarters moves.
- Review after death — ask whether the body was worth your life in Momentum terms.
Practice plan
- Play matches where your only scoreboard goal is successful, covered revives.
- Alternate Anzac-style open approaches with Kut-style room pathing using the Maps Overview.
- Duo with an Officer or HMG player and build a shared language for priority targets.
- Revisit Classes Overview after patches so kit changes do not sneak up on you.
Stretcher Bearers do not always top the kill feed. They top the shortlist of players Officers want in their squad when the Momentum bar starts to shake.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is Stretcher Bearer beginner friendly?
Yes. The class teaches map routes and Expedition value quickly. You still need discipline — running into open sniper lanes will feed Momentum just as hard as a reckless rifle charge.
Should I revive every teammate?
No. Prioritize Officers, key gunners, and Bombers during breaches. Skip bait bodies in hopeless sightlines, especially when Momentum is already critical.
How do Stretcher Bearers help on defense?
They keep lane holders and Officers alive so Headquarters stays contested longer, forcing attackers to spend more Momentum or rotate to Support Objectives.
What pages should I read next?
Read Officer Guide for triage partners, Firepower Roles for who to restore first, and Expedition Mode for Momentum and Support Objective timing.
Is Stretcher Bearer high tier before launch?
Our Class Tier List projects strong value for sustain roles in Expedition, but that page is a pre-launch series-veteran projection, not an official ranking.
